The city of Kathmandu was founded in the 2nd century. In ancient times, it was called “Nepal Mandala” and has been the home of the Newar people for centuries. It was also the royal capital in Nepal before Monarchy was abolished.

 The sightseeing tour in Kathmandu includes many cultural sights like Pashupatinath Temple, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, and historical sights like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Bhaktapur Durbar Square.

Kathmandu includes many religious statues symbolizing goddess Bhavani, Durga, Gaja-Lakshmi, Hariti-Sitala, Mahsishamardini, Saptamatrika (seven mother goddesses), and Sri-Lakshmi (wealth-goddess). You can also find Buddhist monuments from the Ashoka period, the Licchavi or classical period (500 to 900 AD), and the post-classical period (1000 to 1400 AD) with influences of Palla art form and tantric influences coupled with the art of Tibetan Demonology.

Also, museums like Narayanhiti Palace Museum, Hanuman Dhoka Palace Complex etc. It is also famous for Jazzmandu, the only jazz festival in the Himalayan region.

Itinerary


  • Welcome to Nepal! Our airport representative will meet you at the international airport and transport you to your hotel in a private vehicle. On the following days, you will be given a brief overview of the programs. Spend the night at the hotel.

     

  • Today, we will have a full-day trip to Kathmandu Valley. Swoyambhunath is a Buddhist Shrine located on the top of a hill in Kathmandu.It is among the oldest religious sites of Nepal.It was founded in 5th century CE by King Vṛsadeva, the great grandfather of King Mānadeva.Most of the icons in Swoyambhunath comes from Vajrayana tradition of Newar Buddhism.You will also enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley along with peaceful Buddhist atmosphere. 

    Patan is the location of Patan Durbar Square, the royal palace of the old Malla Kings.  Patan is famous for its traditional handcraft- from woodworking to sculpting. Also, Patan is famous for mahavirs, temples and water ponds. You can visit Hiranya Varna Mahavihar also known as Golden Temple, Mahabouddha Temple, Kumbheshwar Temple, Pimbahal Pokhari and more.

    Boudhanath is the closest Buddhist Shrine in Kathmandu. It is also a UNESCO world heritage site. After Swoyambhu, it is one of Kathmandu most popular buddhist site.Although, many believed that Boudhanath was founded by Nepalese Licchavi king Śivadeva (c. 590–604 CE), some also believe that it was King Mānadeva (464–505 CE).But, it is believed that the emperor Trisong Detsen (r. 755 to 797) is also related to it.

     Finally, Pashupatinath is the temple of the main god of Hinduism, Shiva. oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu.It is said that the record of this temple was found in 400 CE. It was built in Newari pagoda style of architecture.

  • After having breakfast, your trip begins to Nagarkot via Bhaktapur.On the way, you  will visit Bhaktapur which is the location of Bhaktapur Royal Palace, the royal palace of the Malla Kings. Bhaktapur is famous for its temples, palaces, and its unique Newari cuisine. However, you should not miss the taste of Chatamari, often called Nepali Pizza. It is also a famous UNESCO world heritage site. Built in 12th to 15th centuries, Bhaktapur is famous for 55-window palace, Pottery Square, Taumadhi Square, Dattatreya Square and more.

    After sightseeing on Bhaktapur, we will be traveling to Nagarkot. Nagarkot is a famous viewpoint for panoramic views of sunrise and sunset. It is also famous for adventure sports like hiking, Paragliding, ziplines, etc. Nagarkot is well known as the best spots to se Mt. everest as well as many other himalayan mountain ranges. You can also view Mt Dhaulagiri and Mt Kanchanjunga in the east and the west of Nagarkot. In the afternoon/evening, you can also go shopping in the local market in Nagarkot.
