Chisapani Hiking Tour gives you a glimpse of a traditional rural Gurung village at the edge of Kathmandu. As the Chisapani goes through Shivapuri National Park, you can also see paddy fields, oak and rhododendron forests with beautiful mountains.

Chisapani Day hike is best suitable for easy/moderate hikes. Though, before-walking, jogging, hiking and physical training would be very helpful.

About Chisapani

Chisapani is a small village located on the northern outskirts of Kathmandu. It is also a small hill station with an elevation of 1350m above Kathmandu. This place is famous for its one-day hiking.

Along with the views of Jugal, Ganesh Himal with Langtang region, Chisapani is also famous for its sunrise and sunset views and its local cheese factories.

Moreover, this place is famous for being the route of Nagarkot, Langtang and Helambu Trek.

Itinerary


  • All groups will assemble in front of the Nepal View Tour office. Our guides and staff will inspect the necessary hiking equipment using the list that was provided to you after the confirmation of the Hike. After that, we will be driving to Sundarijal, from where your hike starts. It will take around an hour to reach Sundarijal. We will take a short break for a short tea break. You can load water bottles. Sudarijal is the last place for shopping before the hike.

    The hike begins at the Sundarijal market. You can see several natural springs and waterfalls. During your climb, you will get a chance to see the Sundarijal Hydropower dam and several other attractions. The Chisapani Hike is very rich and diverse in nature and culture. The dense green forest, several beautiful birds, and the exposure to unique flora and fauna make your day memorable.There are a few tea houses on the way to Chisapani where we can rest with warm tea or soup.

    Enjoying a spectacular and panoramic view of the Kathmandu Valley from the Chisapani Day Hike Trail Climbing down the ridge through oak and rhododendron forests, you will reach Chisapani at 2300m. We will spend the night at the lodge.

  • On the second day, we will enjoy the view of the sunrise from the snowcapped mountains. After that, we will enjoy a warm breakfast. With a short break, we will be hiking to Sankhu.

    By this time we will arrive at Sankhu. Sankhu is an ancient Newari town in the northeastern corner of Kathmandu Valley.  If you wish to continue further, we will also provide services like tours in  Bajrayogini Temple, Swasthani Temple, the five existing ancient gates of Sankhu etc. Or, visit Sankhu for a few hours and we will drop you off to your hotel in Kathmandu.
