Chitwan National Park

The Chitwan National park is the first national park established in Nepal on 1973 A.D. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage site and is well-known as one of the best wildlife-viewing national parks in Asia. 

The Chitwan National Park covers the area of 952.63 km2 (367.81 sq mi) in the districts of Nawalpur, Parasi, Chitwan and Makwanpur. The east of The Chitwan National Park is the Parsa National Park, south is the Indian Tiger Reserve Valmiki National Park. The total area of these three parks is 2,075 km2 (801sqmi) which forms Tiger Conservation Unit (TCU) Chitwan-Parsa-Valmiki.

Chitwan has the plants like Chir pine (Pinus roxburghii), beleric (Terminalia bellirica), rosewood (Dalbergia sissoo), axlewood (Anogeissus latifolia), elephant apple (Dillenia indica), grey downy balsam (Garuga pinnata), Bauhinia vahlii and Spatholobus parviflorus and many more.

Also, Chitwan National park has 700 species of wildlife. It also has not yet fully surveyed the number of butterfly, moth and insect species in the park.

Among 68 mammal species in the park include Royal Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, sloth bears, Bengal foxes, spotted linsangs and honey badgers etc.

     On the first day you can drive to Chitwan from both Kathmandu and Pokhara as per your ease. As an alternative, you can also take a flight from Kathmandu to Chitwan. After arriving, you will meet the guide and be transferred to the hotel. In the Hotel, we will be taking lunch and a short break. A short  briefing about the program will be given

     Then we will go for a nature jungle walk in the Chitwan National Park. After that we will have a short trip to the Tharu Cultural museum and Research Centre.

    Then, we will return to the Hotel and have dinner. During dinner, we will also enjoy the Tharu cultural dance. We will stay overnight in the Hotel at Chitwan.

  • After breakfast, we will be doing a full jungle safari in Chitwan National Park. We can either do a jeep safari or an elephant safari in the Chitwan National Park.

    The Chitwan National park has many rare flora and fauna like Royal Bengal Tiger, One horned rhinos, Elephants, Deer, Fourhorned antelope, Pangolin, Golden monitor lizard, Monkeys, Wild Boar and up to 544 species of birds.

    Then, we will be having lunch. After lunch, we will be visiting the Elephant breeding centre and also the Gharial Breeding Farm. Elephant Breeding center was established to protect the domesticated elephant from any forms of harm. While the Gharial Crocodile hatching center was formed for safe birth of reare species of Gharial Crocodile.

    We can also canoe on the rapti River. In the evening, we will have a sunset tour around Chitwan. We will have dinner and stay overnight in the Hotel at Chitwan.

  • Today, after breakfast, we will be taking rest till lunch. After that, we will drop you at the Airport. You can either visit Kathmandu, Pokhara, Lumbini or to your next destination.
